Summary: There's safety in Albus's arms.
A/N: Written for hp_nextgen_fest Halloween Drabble Treat, using the prompt Nightmare. I want to thank the Next Gen Mod Squad for giving me this short extension, since this fic was written yesterday night in a hurry and just needed the betaing. Albus lay on his back, listening to Scorpius’s quick breaths in the next bed. He was aware that the boy had a hard time sleeping on Halloween nights, having had horrible nightmares that haunted him during his childhood.
“Scorp,” Albus whispered. The other boy mumbled something unintelligible, and at that, Albus got up and tiptoed to Scorpius’s bed.
“Scorpius, is everything okay?” he asked, carefully drawing the curtains open and finding the blond boy curled up, gripping his pillow tightly.
Scorpius looked up at him and nodded. “Just can’t sleep,” he replied in a quiet whisper. Albus smiled and then climbed into Scorpius's bed.
“Move over a little,” he said, lying down beside his boyfriend and wrapping his arms protectively around him, tangling their legs together. “Better now?”
“Maybe a little bit,” Scorpius murmured, smiling against Albus’s chest and making him chuckle quietly. “Yes, yes, a lot safer.”
